It Support Engineer
Role: IT Support Engineer
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE
Location: Sunderland
GEM Partnership is delighted to partner with a leading engineering business in their appointment of an On-Site IT Support Engineer, who will provide IT support across all aspects of their business.
The Role:
- Responsible for providing on-site desktop support for technical infrastructure for end users
- Advising and assisting users in solving problems related to software, hardware, networks and peripherals
- Install, upgrade, and maintain workstations, servers, networks, and peripheral equipment
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and profiles
- Monitor systems, perform regular backups, conduct security checks (firewalls), and manage IT inventory
- Resolve and escalate IT incidents and change requests
- Involvement in IT-related projects alongside typical day-to-day Support duties
The Person:
- Previous similar experience in an IT Support role
- Ideally with a recognised IT-related qualification and an appetite to develop further
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Office 365 etc.) and operating system
- Good understanding of PC hardware
- Proven experience of server environments and Active Directory
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and customer service skills
