Software Tester Apprentice (General Medical Council)

To support the quality assurance function by actively participating in the testing of enterprise level software applications, ensuring that they meet defined requirements, are fit for purpose, and deliver a positive user experience.

Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Tester to support our Quality Assurance function. This entry-level role involves testing enterprise-level software applications to ensure they meet defined requirements, are user-friendly, and are fit for purpose. You'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic Agile development environment, working closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to create acceptance criteria.
  • Estimate test effort for testing new or changed software features.
  • Define and create test scripts that will critique the product feature.
  • Perform test execution and document the results in our test management platform.
  • Report software defects using our defect management system.
  • Work with developers to investigate defects and help with their resolution.
  • Participate in software delivery releases.
  • Uphold testing standards and contribute to the team’s definition of done.
  • Present feedback to product and development teams on test outcomes.
  • Take a continuous improvement approach to your practices.
  • Work as part of our Agile Scrum Delivery Team and participate in the scrum rituals.
  • To apply the relevant management systems, procedures and policies relating to risk management, health and safety, information security and business continuity.
  • To apply and manage the relevant diversity and equality policy and practice relevant to the role.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
