Senior Database Engineer

We are hiring for Senior Database Engineer at Sheffield, UK

Key Skills & Experience Essential

• 10+ years of hands-on DBA experience in enterprise environments ideally
• Strong expertise in at least one major RDBMS (Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
• Experience supporting high-volume transactional systems, ideally in payments, banking, or financial services
• Knowledge of HA/DR technologies (e.g., RAC, AlwaysOn, replication, clustering)
• Strong SQL and performance tuning skills
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., OEM, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus)
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
• Understanding of backup/recovery strategies and tools Preferred
• Experience in Payments, Liquidity, or Core Banking systems
• Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and cloud-native databases
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, Shell, Ansible, Terraform)
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of data security & regulatory requirements in banking (e.g., FCA, PRA)
