Business Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to support a major programme of work for a leading utility organisation based in Solihull to play a key role in shaping the programme, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and third-party suppliers to understand requirements, assess current operating processes and prepare the organisation for future procurement and delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, capture and documentation of business requirements, ensuring requirements are clear, structured and aligned with programme objectives.
  • Develop detailed business and functional use cases, translating stakeholder needs into actionable requirements.
  • Undertake business process analysis, documenting current-state processes and helping define future-state processes and improvements.
  • Assess existing operating models, identifying gaps, dependencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather, challenge and validate requirements.
  • Work with business, technology and programme stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the development of procurement-ready documentation, ensuring business and functional requirements are sufficiently detailed for supplier engagement and evaluation.
  • Contribute to options assessments, gap analysis and recommendations around future solutions and operating models.
  • Act as a bridge between operational stakeholders, technical teams, procurement and external suppliers.

Experience Required

  • Strong experience working as a Business Analyst on complex transformation, technology or operational change programmes.
  • Excellent requirements gathering, analysis and documentation skills.
  • Proven experience developing use cases, process maps and business requirements.
  • Experience carrying out current-state / future-state business process analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Experience assessing or helping design target operating models.
  • Exposure to procurement, tender preparation, supplier selection or procurement readiness would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience within the utilities, energy, infrastructure or regulated sectors would be particularly beneficial.
