GMP Recruitment are proud to partner with a leading provider of telecommunications infrastructure services. We are recruiting on their behalf for BTS I&C Engineers to support a number of nationwide telecoms projects on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Base Transceiver Station (BTS) Installation & Commissioning Engineers to join a growing team working across major mobile network projects throughout the UK. Whilst the initial requirements are based in London (2 positions) and Manchester (1 position), successful candidates will be expected to travel to sites across the UK as project requirements dictate.
This is an Outside IR35 contract, offering a competitive day rate of £275 per day.
Please note: Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the contractor.
Start Date
- Ad-hoc requirement depending on customer demand.
- Initial work is expected to commence between August and September.
BTS I&C Engineer Main Duties:
- Installation, integration and commissioning of BTS equipment on live telecoms sites.
- Commissioning and testing Nokia radio equipment to customer specifications.
- Completing upgrades, swaps and new site installations.
- Carrying out fault finding and resolving installation issues.
- Completing integration and commissioning documentation accurately.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Working alongside project managers, rigging teams and other engineers to deliver projects on time.
- Conducting pre-commissioning and post-installation testing.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety legislation and site-specific requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship across all installations.
- Travelling to sites across the UK as required by project demands.
BTS I&C Engineer Experience Needed:
- Previous experience as a BTS Installation & Commissioning Engineer.
- Strong experience working with Nokia telecommunications equipment.
- Previous experience working on BT and/or EE network projects.
- Good understanding of mobile telecommunications infrastructure.
- Experience carrying out commissioning, integration and testing activities.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and installation drawings.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexible approach with willingness to travel nationwide.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
