Assistant Project Accountant (Swindon)

ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Assistant Project Accountant at GRIDSERVE, you will join the Finance Department to assist and monitor projects accounting across the Company’s asset portfolio. You will be handling daily transactions on Microsoft Dynamics D365 within the GRIDSERVE Group and assisting with month-end close, the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts, in tandem with the Project Controller and Management Accountants. You will also be maintaining and developing datasets to drive ad-hoc reporting. This is an exciting role for a highly motivated individual eager to learn project reporting and contribute to process improvement within an energetic and friendly team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to-day financial activities within the construction entity of the Company, with the assistance of the Project Controller
- Day-to-day financial activities within the operational entities, with the assistance of the Management Accountants
- Assistance with the weekly projects cashflow
- Assistance with the month-end process and preparation of finance material for Board meetings
- Datasets maintenance and preparation
- Assistance with the overall projects reporting, with special attention to actuals versus budgets and rolling reforecasts analysis
- Close liaison with other Company departments for data collection and update
- Be an engaging and trusted member of the finance team
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required experience
- Maximum 3 years in finance roles
Required skills and abilities
- Basic IFRS knowledge
- Good MS Excel skills (intermediate to high level)
- Strong level of initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to look at problems and suggest solutions
- Great communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Attention to detail
- Adaptable and flexible to work in a fast-paced organisation
Non-essential Experience
- Experience in project reporting
- Experience of working with SPV structures
- Experience within the renewables and/or infrastructure sectors
- Microsoft Dynamics D365 or other ERP systems
- Experience with MS Power BI
