Our electronics manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their engineering team, with a focus on PCB/PCBA Flying Probe Test (FPT) within a high-reliability ATE manufacturing environment.  You will be responsible for developing and optimising test solutions, supporting production and resolving complex electronic test and manufacturing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, program and optimise Flying Probe Test (FPT) solutions.
  • Maximise test coverage across complex PCB assemblies.
  • Support ATE and Probe Card Analyser (PCA) systems.
  • Investigate and resolve faults through to component level.
  • Develop and maintain test programmes, procedures and controls.
  • Support NPI, production and quality investigations.
  • Identify improvements to test coverage, reliability and production performance.
  • Support the introduction of new test equipment and technologies.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to production and junior engineering team members.
You will ideally have:
  • Ideally a degree or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline or an HND with relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in electronics/component testing.
  • Experience with Flying Probe Test, ATE and/or Probe Card Analysers is great but not essential.
  • Knowledge of PCB CAD/CAM data extraction and test-program generation.
  • Strong schematic and PCB layout interpretation skills.
  • Proven component-level fault finding and debugging experience.
  • Experience in NPI and high-mix/low-volume electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing best practice.
