Enterprise Architect
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a small but highly skilled architecture team within a large government department. The team is responsible for modelling the enterprise architecture of the organisation and enabling a more effective digital transformation journey.
You will play a key role in shaping and documenting the organisation’s technology landscape, processes, and dependencies, helping to create a digital model that supports strategic decision-making and delivery of core objectives.
Location: London - Hybrid
Contract Length: 6 Months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Pay Rate: Up to £800 per day (via Umbrella)
Security Clearance: Active SC required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist architectural expertise and direction to build and enhance the organisation’s enterprise architecture model.
- Document technology, people, processes, and other organisational elements to deliver a comprehensive digital representation of the enterprise.
- Analyse and understand complex systems, identifying dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with architects across multiple disciplines in a complex, highly devolved environment.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
- Identify, document, and communicate architectural risks, including security, data, and business risks.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and guide architectural decisions across the organisation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience across multiple architectural disciplines, with deep expertise in at least one (IT systems/technical architecture, business architecture, solution architecture, data architecture, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience documenting enterprise architecture in complex organisations.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and model interdependencies between systems and components.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage senior stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborative approach to working with other architects and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence and guide strategic architectural decisions.
Desirable
- Experience using Ardoq or similar enterprise architecture modelling tools.
