Security roles in defence usually split into two camps: people who guard buildings, and people who guard information. This one asks you to run both, properly, for a business that can't afford to get either wrong.
Our client designs and builds technology for security customers, work that's genuinely deployed and genuinely sensitive. That means the person holding this seat isn't administering a policy someone else wrote. You're the operational owner of physical security, personnel security and facilities, reporting into a senior stakeholder who needs you to just handle it.
You'll run Facility Security Clearance and personnel vetting arrangements, manage compliance against UK Government and MOD security frameworks, and take the lead when something goes wrong: incident management, investigation, corrective action, start to finish. Alongside that, you're managing the buildings themselves, contractors, suppliers, maintenance, budgets, the whole facilities operation that keeps a secure site running day to day. You'll also line-manage a small Security, Facilities & Assurance team, so this is leadership as much as it's technical delivery.
What you'll bring
- Experience in physical security, personnel security, security assurance or security management within a regulated or Security environment
- Working knowledge of FSC, IPSA, BPSS, SC, DV or equivalent clearance and vetting arrangements
- Comfort operating inside MOD, DISP or similarly controlled security frameworks
- A track record managing people, not just processes
- Experience running facilities services, contractor relationships and supplier budgets on behalf of a senior budget holder
