Role Description:

We are looking for a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join GagaMuller and support the delivery of a 210MW hyperscale data centre campus in London. You will work alongside experienced, diverse, and highly driven teams, playing a key role in the commercial management and successful delivery of a major mission-critical development.

The Opportunity:

GagaMuller is supporting the delivery of a major 210MW hyperscale data centre campus in London. Acting on behalf of the client, the Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial leadership and cost management oversight across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and associated Building Services work packages throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the Client, Project Managers, Contractors, Design Teams, Construction Teams, Commissioning Teams, and the wider PMC team, you will be responsible for managing project costs, valuations, change control, contractor commercial performance, procurement activities, and final account settlements, while ensuring commercial governance and reporting requirements are consistently achieved.

This role will play a key part in protecting project value, supporting informed commercial decision-making, managing commercial risk, and ensuring the successful delivery of a complex, high-value mission critical development. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of key MEP commercial workstreams on one of London's major data centre programmes while working alongside leading industry professionals across the project.

Responsibilities:

  1. Scope & Delivery Management
  • Lead the commercial management of MEP work packages from procurement through to final account settlement.
  • Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, benchmarking exercises, forecasts, and commercial reports.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Review contractor valuations, applications for payment, and commercial submissions.
  • Support procurement activities including tender documentation, tender evaluations, contractor negotiations, and recommendations.

2. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as a key commercial interface between the Client, Project Managers, Contractors, Consultants, Vendors, and Project Controls teams.
  • Participate in commercial meetings, project reviews, and stakeholder workshops.
  • Support commercial negotiations with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
  • Collaborate with Design, Construction, Scheduling, BIM, and Commissioning teams to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to project stakeholders throughout project delivery.

3. Risk & Compliance Management

  • Manage change control processes and assess commercial impacts of design changes, variations, compensation events, and scope changes.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Review contractor claims and support resolution of commercial disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, commercial procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and commercial targets.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, cashflow reports, and earned value analysis.
  • Maintain commercial registers including variations, claims, risks, procurement trackers, and change events.
  • Produce commercial dashboards and reporting for client and project leadership teams.
  • Support preparation of executive reports and commercial presentations.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and maintenance of commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Collaboration & Integration

  • Work collaboratively with Project Management, Construction, Commercial, Scheduling, BIM, Design, Quality, and Commissioning teams.
  • Support integration of commercial reporting with wider project controls functions.
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Support project governance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote a proactive and solutions-focused commercial culture across the project.
