Senior Product Designer (Mobile App) - Contract

Contract length: ~10 weeks

Start: ASAP

Location: UK based but remote first (some overlap with US time zones required)

Rate: £450 - £550/day (dependent on experience)

IR35 Status: Outside

Summary:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to jump into a fast-moving project as part of a brand new app being built to protect users against identity and financial fraud.

A design lead is already in place and the foundations are underway — they have high-level IA, early direction, and clear requirements — but they need support to get the product launched.

This role is about owning chunks of the experience end-to-end: taking defined areas from requirements to flows, UI and build-ready handoff, with minimal handholding. You'll be:

  • Designing mobile app experiences for a new audience and new use cases.
  • Turning requirements and IA into detailed flows and screens.
  • Designing and delivering production-ready UI in Figma.
  • Working async with a US-based team (designer based on US West Coast)

The focus is on shipping: solid execution, clear decisions, and clean handoff - not building long-term design frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of assigned product areas and drive them through to completion
  • Break down requirements into flows, edge cases, and screen states
  • Produce high-quality mobile UI aligned to existing direction and patterns
  • Create and iterate in Figma (components, layouts, prototypes as needed)
  • Collaborate async with regular check-ins to keep work aligned and unblocked
  • Prepare dev-friendly handoff (structure, annotations, states, responsive behaviour)
  • Work closely with the design lead to maintain cohesion across the end-to-end experience

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Senior level Product Designer with strong mobile app work
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong product thinking: able to make decisions, manage trade-offs, and keep momentum
  • Solid Figma craft and strong attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and designing for real-world constraints
  • Able to work async with at least a couple hours overlap with US time zones
