Forward Deployed Engineer
Company Description
Galveston is building the geopolitical intelligence platform for institutional capital. We map real-world events to portfolio exposures in real time, serving sovereign wealth funds, private banks, and asset managers navigating an increasingly volatile world.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you won't sit behind a ticket queue. You'll embed directly with our highest-value clients - major banks, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices — to deploy, configure, and extend the Mithril platform against their most critical workflows.
What you'll do:
• Work on-site with institutional clients to understand their intelligence and portfolio needs, then build and ship solutions in days, not quarters
• Integrate Mithril into client environments — connecting to internal portfolio systems, data feeds, and compliance frameworks
• Translate complex client problems into platform capabilities that feed back into the core product
• Act as the technical face of Galveston, building trust with senior stakeholders across trading desks, risk teams, and C-suites
• Collaborate closely with our core engineering and intelligence teams to close the gap between what clients need and what the platform delivers
What we're looking for:
• Strong full-stack engineering skills (Python, TypeScript, React, Neo4j or graph databases a plus)
• Comfort working autonomously in high-pressure, client-facing environments
• The ability to context-switch between deep technical work and senior stakeholder conversations
• Prior experience in fintech, defence tech, or enterprise SaaS is a strong advantage
• A bias toward shipping — you'd rather deploy something imperfect on Friday than perfect in three months
