About The Role
The role
The purpose of this role is to provide bespoke development and configuration management to IT solutions using Gateley and industry standard development tools. You will be required to understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications. Analyse and resolve system defects and problems.

This team works closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions that support our growth and enhance client experience. From integrating emerging technologies to optimising existing systems, Solution Engineering ensures we stay ahead of the curve.
The team
Gateley Plc has a dynamic and collaborative IT department. We have grown our team to over 60 staff members in total across IT Service, Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, Change Management, Development, Innovation and Client Solutions. Our Solution Engineering team plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering cutting-edge solutions that enable our business to work smarter and faster. This team works closely with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions that support our growth and enhance client experience. From integrating emerging technologies to optimising existing systems, Solution Engineering ensures we stay ahead of the curve.

The role
The purpose of this role is to provide bespoke development and configuration management to IT solutions using Gateley and industry standard development tools. You will be required to understand business requirements and accordingly develop configuration specifications. Analyse and resolve system defects and problems.
The Solution Engineer will be responsible for: -
- Design and provide configuration updates to third-party applications / systems.
- Design and deliver applications on and low-code development platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate.
- Analyse applications / platforms and recommending improvements.
- Developing workflows to align with operational requirements of internal and external customers on third-party applications / systems and using low-code development tools.
- Creating integrations between different applications / platforms.
- Design, code, document and troubleshoot software programs.
- Adhering to (and suggesting improvements to) Gateley's Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) to write clean, secure, scalable and maintainable code
- Maintain detailed technical and functional specifications.
- Supporting wider IT team at times with tasks that might be outside of core role description as we are relatively small team, which is collectively striving for excellence.
- To be aware of and comply with the company's policies and procedures

The person
The following experience is essential:
- IT Qualifications such as a computer science degree
- Excellent analysis, troubleshooting and resolution skills are a must.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- Good knowledge of IT systems in general, and development tools on the Microsoft platform
- Understanding of data warehousing and analysis
- Previous experience of having worked in an environment delivering solutions to a professional services audience.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft .NET MCSD, VB.Net/C#
- Working knowledge of 3E Practice Management systems, along with other professional service applications.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power platform
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
- Knowledgeable/ fluent in programming languages, including C#, ASP.Net, Java script, MS SQL, XML,HTML and CSS
- Microsoft SQL DBA
- Experience of having worked in a development or configuration role on workflow or accounting solutions, ideally within a law firm setting
- Microsoft DevOps
