Business Development Manager

Role: Business Development Manager

Location: Remote

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + circa £50,000 OTE

My client is a well-established technology/SaaS organisation offering a unique portfolio of services to the construction sector across the UK and internationally.

The Business Development Manager, a crucial appointment in realising their continued growth ambition, is an exciting opportunity to help them increase profitability and ultimately unlock the potential of their market proposition across their MEP target market.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identifying and concluding new sales opportunities across the UK
  • Developing and nurturing your own leads
  • Uncover client’s business challenges and identify relevant business opportunities
  • Managing the sales process end-to-end, including software demonstrations and commercial negotiations
  • Providing first class customer-focused approach
  • Attending conferences and networking events as and when required to support the needs of the business
  • Efficiently and effectively process assigned opportunities into sales
  • Manage your own pipeline and all work activities, maintaining accurate information and up-to-date forecasts on all prospects
  • As well as being responsible for new business, you will also inherit an established client based, with the opportunity to cross sell and up sell in order to maximise revenue
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets

The Person

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercially-focused business-to-business sales or account management environment, specifically within the Construction or MEP tech space
  • A technical understanding of the Mechanical & Engineering sector, ideally having studied Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of using a consultative, solution-based sales methodology, ideally from a software background
  • Ability to develop trust and relationships with prospects, customers and colleagues
  • Excellent telephone and online presentation skills
  • Strong desire to be part of a team that delivers our customers breakthrough results
  • Ambitious to develop their career further within the organisation

The role is remote-based, although you will be ideally located within travelable distance to Newcastle, Leeds, Milton Keynes or London.
