Analytics Engineer

Analytics Engineer (UK | Hybrid | up to £60k) Hybrid working: typically 1–2 days in the London office (flexible)The Analytics Engineer sits between Data Engineering and the business, owning the transformation layer and turning raw data into trusted, scalable insights.This is an exciting time to join this fast paced & growing Insurance company.You’ll take ownership of the analytics/BI layer and help build a “single source of truth” for the organisation and external partners.What you’ll do
  • Build and maintain robust data models and curated datasets in the warehouse
  • Own metric logic across the semantic layer (consistent definitions, reliable reporting)
  • Partner with Data Engineering to integrate and improve upstream data sources
  • Use dbt + modern warehouse tooling to deliver scalable transformation patterns
  • Build high-quality dashboards and self-serve marts for commercial & operational teams
  • Maintain and enhance external-facing analytics products (partner reporting)
What we’re looking for
  • 3-4+ years in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or technical BI
  • Advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, optimisation)
  • Strong dashboarding and data storytelling in Looker/QuickSight/Tableau/Power BI
  • Experience with dbt and modern warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift)
  • Strong approach to quality: testing, documentation, Git, code review
  • Previous insurance experience required. 
Nice to have
  • Python for data manipulation/automation
  • Scale-up experience
  • Financial services or insurance exposure
