Senior Software Engineer Full Stack

Are you an experienced Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead who enjoys remaining hands-on while guiding teams and shaping technical solutions? A leading specialist technical consultancy is looking for a Software Technical Lead to join a live Central Government project. You will work within a collaborative Agile team, building bespoke software that solves complex operational challenges.

What youll be doing Leading and supporting a team of software engineersDesigning, developing and testing bespoke software solutionsProviding technical direction and communicating clearly with clientsProducing solution architectures and technical designsBuilding full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScriptDesigning and deploying cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWSCreating continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLabWorking across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support and maintenanceDeploying software into public and private cloud environmentsPromoting high standards of software quality, security and engineering practiceWhat were looking for You will be a hands-on Senior Engineer or Technical Lead with: Strong commercial Java development experienceGood experience designing and building solutions in AWSFull-stack development experience using JavaScript, React and TypeScriptPrevious experience leading engineers or providing technical directionAn understanding of software architecture and technical designExperience working throughout the full software development lifecycleStrong communication and stakeholder-engagement skillsThe ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into practical technical solutionsConsultancy experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Security requirements Due to the sensitive nature of the projects, the successful candidate must be able to obtain high-level UK security clearance.
