Hours: 26 hours per week, Mon to Fri between 9am -5pm

About the role
As the Criminal Disclosure Special ist, you will have an impact on managing our criminal disclosure process end to end, ensuring a smooth process for candidates whilst ensuring compliance with the relevant legislative requirements. Therefore, you will be working day to day to ensure that our disclosure applications are submitted correctly; responding to any queries from the issuing authorities; and, participating in period audits to ensure regulatory compliance. The desired outcome of this will be ensure that Giant Screening remain complaint with the issuing authorities requirements and that disclosure applications are processed within a timely fashion.
Key responsibilities of the role include
- Act as a lead countersignatory and subject matter expert for UK criminal record compliance, providing authoritative guidance across DBS, AccessNI, and Disclosure Scotland processes.
- Liaise directly with DBS, AccessNI, and Disclosure Scotland to respond to queries, manage escalations, and resolve complex or non-standard cases.
- Engage directly with clients where required to provide eligibility guidance, clarify disclosure requirements, and resolve complex DBS-related issues.
- Monitor criminal record applications end to end, ensuring progress is tracked and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and procedural changes impacting the UK criminal disclosure framework, ensuring these are reflected in operational processes and client guidance.
- Support the continuous improvement of the criminal disclosure offering, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and best practice are maintained at all times.
About you
Ideally, you would have at least two years of experience working with criminal disclosure applications and a sound understanding of the legislation underpinning the process.
You can only excel in this role:
- With excellent written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills and an ability to view issues from the client’s perspective.
- You have previously worked with criminal disclosure processing.
- Understand the processing requirements of the Disclosure and Barring Service, Access NI and Disclosure Scotland.
- Understand the regulatory requirements for determining whether a position is eligible for certain levels of disclosure.
- You can work independently in monitoring and reporting on applications in line with the SLA.
