Business Development Manager
Three days a week visiting customers on site full UK Driving license required
Overview
An established and fast-growing organisation within the education and training sector is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join its high-performing commercial team.
This role plays a key part in driving organisational growth through new business acquisition, strategic partnerships, and expansion of existing accounts. The successful candidate will be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, engaging with senior stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to deliver tailored, value-led solutions.
You will act as a key representative of the organisation, leading both remote and face-to-face meetings, understanding customer challenges, and supporting long-term growth ambitions within technical education.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full sales journey to identify, pursue and secure new and existing business opportunities
- Prospect and generate your own leads, alongside converting inbound enquiries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including education providers and public-sector bodies
- Deliver against individual and team sales targets and KPIs
- Apply a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
- Identify opportunities to maximise growth across a portfolio of products and services
- Negotiate and finalise commercial agreements, ensuring profitable outcomes
- Analyse sales and market data to inform targeted decision-making
- Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
- Provide regular performance updates and reports to senior management
- Capture market intelligence to support future sales and marketing activity
Key Requirements
- Full UK driving license
- Proven success in new business generation within the business-to-business market
- Ideally from a training, education or assessment background but not essential
- Experience working to targets and KPIs in a performance-driven environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Confident negotiator with solid contract management experience
- Excellent pipeline and CRM management
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
