Origination Executive South West/South East

To support the company's corporate development strategy by researching, sourcing, and qualifying new deal opportunities in the software and technology sector. The role focuses on origination activity, market intelligence, and relationship-building, extensive research, feeding into into the M&A team for execution.

Origination Support

• Identify potential acquisition targets, partnerships, and investment opportunities
• Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities aligned with the company's growth strategy.
• Track competitor activity, emerging technologies, and deal flow in the sector.

Business Development

• Assist in outreach to founders, investors, and advisory networks in the specific industry.
• Support senior colleagues in preparing pitch materials, presentations, and target analyses.
• Represent the company at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking forums

Client & Partner Engagement

• Conduct initial conversations with prospects to qualify opportunities.
• Coordinate meetings between potential targets and the Head of M&A.
• Maintain CRM records and ensure accurate tracking of origination activity.

Market Intelligence

• Produce sector reports, target lists, and briefing notes focused on software and SaaS markets.
• Monitor regulatory, technological, and macroeconomic trends impacting M&A activity.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the Head of M&A and Origination to prioritise origination efforts.
• Liaise with execution teams to ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities.

• 1-3 years' experience in corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, or financial services, ideally with exposure to technology/software.
• Strong research and analytical skills with ability to identify and assess opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with founders, investors, and senior stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of M&A processes and capital markets.
• Highly organised with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Existing network within technology investors, founders, or advisory firms.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive approach to sourcing opportunities.
• Ambition to progress into senior origination or execution roles.

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline.

• Base salary up to £40,000.
• Performance-related bonus linked to origination success/perfomance
