About the Business

Our client is a leading Distributor, partnering with some of the world's most recognised technology vendors.

Following continued growth and investment, they are looking to appoint a commercially minded Vendor Manager to play a key role in managing strategic vendor partnerships, driving performance against contractual commitments and supporting long-term business growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a procurement, purchasing, supplier relationship management or vendor management background who enjoys building strong commercial partnerships and influencing business performance.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, you will take ownership of a portfolio of vendor relationships, acting as the key point of contact between the business and strategic suppliers. This is not a sales role.

Instead, you will focus on developing and maintaining strong vendor partnerships, ensuring contractual objectives are achieved, supporting commercial growth plans and helping the wider business maximise opportunities through effective supplier management.

You will work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure products, pricing, promotions and growth initiatives are communicated effectively throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of strategic vendor relationships.
  • Build long-term partnerships with suppliers and become a trusted commercial contact.
  • Manage ongoing supplier communications, meetings and performance reviews.
  • Ensure vendors receive a consistently high level of support and engagement post-contract award.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and increase commercial value for both parties.

Commercial Performance & Growth

  • Support delivery against vendor targets, growth plans and contractual commitments.
  • Monitor sales performance, trends and forecasts against agreed objectives.
  • Analyse performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Support the development and execution of business plans with key vendor partners.
  • Work in partnership with wider Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to support stock planning and forecasting activities.
  • Help ensure products are positioned effectively within the wider business strategy.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the bridge between vendors and internal departments.
  • Challenge constructively where performance, engagement or delivery does not align with expectations.
  • Manage relationships professionally while maintaining accountability against agreed commitments.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce regular commercial and performance reports.
  • Use data and commercial insight to support decision-making.
  • Provide recommendations to improve vendor performance and maximise opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within Procurement, Purchasing, Supplier Relationship Management, Vendor Management or a similar commercial role.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing contracts or supplier relationships post-award.
  • Commercially driven with strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Comfortable working with forecasts, targets, KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Ability to balance relationship management with commercial accountability.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Organised, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Person

You are naturally relationship-led but commercially focused.

You enjoy building long-term partnerships while maintaining accountability against agreed objectives. You understand how successful supplier relationships contribute to wider business performance and are comfortable using data, forecasts and commercial insights to drive decisions.

You are curious, proactive and able to work across multiple departments, ensuring both internal teams and external partners remain aligned.

Most importantly, you understand that great relationship management is about more than maintaining partnerships. It's about driving growth, delivering results and creating value for everyone involved.

What's on Offer?

  • £40,000 - £50,000 salary depending on experience
  • Hybrid working (Mondays and Fridays from home)
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Significant career progression opportunities within a growing business
  • Regular vendor and customer events in the UK and internationally
  • Supportive leadership team with genuine opportunities for advancement

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious procurement, purchasing or supplier relationship professional looking to move into a commercially focused position where they can genuinely influence business performance and build strategic partnerships.
