Contract Snr Platform Engineer

We are seeking to hire an experienced Contract Platform Engineer into our Platform Engineering Practice, Manchester region. This is a 4-5 month assignment (inside IR35), to start ASAP. This role is mainly remote with occasional workshops in our Manchester region location

About the role:

You will be hands on in projects to provide technical guidance and validation to the engineering teams ie help shape the platform, improve how teams deliver and bring practical ideas

You will be responsible for stakeholder management, building client relationships

Provide recommendations and thought into existing business processes to ensure optimum efficiency.

Technical Insight:

• Subject matter expert in DevOps, Cloud Management and Finops
• Experience of working in a cloud environment - AWS
• Experience with designing and building Infrastructure as a Code(eg Terraform) frameworks
• Experience of building pipeline from scratch, continuously improve the pipelines particularly using GitHub
• Strong AWS engineering experience, including containers, automation, observability and security.
• Python, Bash or similar Scripting capability.
• A track record of improving developer experience while ensuring platforms and services remain secure, reliable, resilient and operationally supportable.
• Experience of working with mono repos and ability to scale the Pipeline for large engineering teams to enable parallel deployments.
• Knowledge of containerisation, orchestration of workloads across multiple environments.
• Knowledge of Information Security best practices enabling adoption of the practises all through the life cycle.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of DevOps and Platform Engineering practices such as CI, CD, Infra as Code, Cloud, Monitoring, Ai
