Senior Azure Platform Engineer

We are seeking to hire an experienced Senior/Lead Azure Cloud Engineer/Consultant into our Platform Engineering Practice for a key client project.
About the role:
- Contribute to and provide leadership qualities in the development and deployment of Cloud technologies with focus and expertise in Azure.
- Work individually and as part of a team to carry out end-to-end implementation of Cloud based technologies (public, private and hybrid). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, production-ready platform capabilities.
- Undertake Cloud based solutions activities driving architecture, process and management best practice.
- Identify risks within major designs and direct follow up remediation activities.
- Advise and assist clients in developing Cloud technology roadmaps.
- Regularly undertake complex and/or critical consultative engagements, to a senior management level.
- Confidently scope complex and critical projects as well as (high level and detailed) deliverables.
- Able to work in a fast-paced project environment and tight delivery timelines.
- In addition, design, build, and operate platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Develop and maintain automation pipelines and tooling to support provisioning, configuration, and platform services.
- Implement and improve CI/CD workflows to accelerate platform delivery.
- Enhance reliability, scalability, and performance of platform services.
- Write automation logic and integrations in Python, Powershell or Golang, especially for infrastructure tooling.
Hands on experience required :-
- Deploying/Managing Azure and/or Designing/Architecting Azure solutions.
- Experience with Azure Devops (or similar CI/CD tooling).
- Experience with IAC (Terraform or ARM)
- Experience with GitLab, GitHub Actions
- Work in an agile, collaborative manner and be adaptable to changing scenarios.
- Strong experience deploying Infrastructure-as-Code in an enterprise environment.
- Architectural design and deployment skills for enterprise Cloud technologies (public, private and hybrid) into complex environments.
- Excellent knowledge of high availability and backup/recovery solutions.
- Excellent technical design, performance improvement and service alignment skills.
- Experience around business critical and business continuity solutions.
- Ability to lead on cloud initiatives and work to tight delivery deadlines.
Ideally you will have one or more of the Associate/Expert level Azure certs, e.g.
- Azure DevOps Engineer expert; Azure Cybersecurity architect expert; Azure Solutions architect expert.
