The Transforming Care Digitally (TCD) Programme is responsible for delivering digital transformation across GHC, improving the way services operate and supporting better outcomes for patients, carers and staff.
As a Project Manager within TCD, you will lead the delivery of complex digital transformation projects from concept through to implementation, adoption and benefits realisation. Working closely with clinical, operational, corporate and digital teams, you will help identify opportunities for improvement, develop business cases, manage project delivery and ensure solutions are successfully embedded into day-to-day practice.
The post holder will be responsible for convening and leading multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating a wide range of stakeholders and managing projects that support the Trust's strategic priorities and digital ambitions. This includes ensuring robust governance, effective risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, operational readiness and successful transition into business as usual. To support engagement and delivery across projects this role requires post holders to be onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering digital change across the organisation, acting as the link between clinical and operational need, digital expertise and successful implementation.
Main duties of the job
The role requires strong leadership, communication, analytical and project management skills, alongside a passion for delivering meaningful improvements for patients, services and staff.
Lead the delivery of digital transformation projects and programmes that support the Trust's strategic objectives and improve outcomes for patients, services and staff.
Work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to identify opportunities for digital innovation, assess feasibility, define benefits and develop projects from concept through to implementation.
Develop and maintain project documentation including business cases, project initiation documentation (PIDs), delivery plans, RAID logs, communication plans and benefits realisation plans.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate stakeholders across clinical services, Digital Services, Business Intelligence, training, information governance and external suppliers to deliver successful outcomes.
Support the design, mobilisation and deployment of digital solutions, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, effectively and in line with agreed governance arrangements.
Drive user engagement, communication and adoption activities to ensure new digital services and ways of working are embedded successfully into operational practice.
Monitor project progress, risks, issues, dependencies and resource requirements, providing timely reporting, escalation and recommendations to project boards and programme governance groups.

Job responsibilities
Work with services to understand operational challenges and translate these into practical digital solutions that deliver measurable improvements in quality, productivity, patient experience and staff experience.
Ensure that all necessary clinical safety, information governance, cyber security, operational readiness and support arrangements are in place prior to implementation and go-live.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Transforming Care Digitally programme, supporting the development of governance, prioritisation, assurance and benefits management processes.
Produce clear and concise reports, presentations and updates for project boards, programme boards, senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
Work with members of the Transforming Care Digitally Programme Team, Transformation Team and wider Digital Services directorate functions to investigate the causes of any variance from project plans and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions.
Management of a project register risk and issues tracking mechanism and the resolution and escalation processes.
Deliver monthly reports (or more frequently if required) that are necessary for project governance and TCD Programme monitoring, in a format consistent with the project methodology and reflective of the needs, size, pace of development, and political sensitivities of each project.
Lead and present to large groups related to projects, negotiate with groups and support services involved in delivering the project.
Link work to other change initiatives, monitor and rectify performance related to delivery and targets
Ensure thorough and recorded planning, monitor expenditure and budgets, and where agreed act as signatory, maintain project records and systems, deliver post project evaluations
Write and present reports up-to-and-including Board level - all as agreed with TCD Programme Sponsor or Director, and in accordance with project methodology.
Ensure that a business approach to the delivery of projects is managed within the corporate and service units.
Work with the TCD Programme Team to arbitrate and resolve competing requests in regard to prioritising project development.
To ensure that all relevant Impact Assessments are completed e.g., Quality and Equality, Health & Safety, Information Governance, Cyber, and financial health, in regard to the Trusts business development for agreed projects.
To have responsibility for and take the lead for nominated tasks, e.g., projects and developments.
Lead specialist on allocated TCD projects including interpretation and incorporation of a range of national and local policies relevant to specific projects

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- A background in a multi project environment and experience of a wide range of projects, delivered in line with project management methodology.
- A recognized project management qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional and managerial development at post graduate level.
- Professional qualification in management.
Experience
- Extensive experience of hands-on project management, service development, transformation and change management, and/or business planning.
- Evidence of successfully leading and implementing Digital change and innovation projects
- Evidence of effective management.
- A high level of experience of all standard MS Office applications (including O365 and Teams
- Experience of using project management software
- Experience in delivering Digital change to large and complex digital systems ideally Electronic Patient Record / Clinical Systems
