Senior Project Manager - Band 7

Job summary

1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 12 months.

Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days a week on site at Edward Jenner Court, Gloucestershire, or project based site within Gloucestershire.

This Senior Project Manager post is an exciting opportunity to co-ordinate projects for the Trust and is part of the busy Digital Services Department. We are particularly seeking candidates with experience of delivering digital improvements within estates-focused programmes of work, including moves, changes and infrastructure-related transformation across complex operational environments.

Digital Services lead on digital strategy, development, co-ordination, planning, project and programme management for all IT and Digital supporting functions. This includes the delivery of enabling digital infrastructure requirements that support wider estates programmes, such as data centre migration, structured cabling, wireless connectivity and associated physical IT specifications.

The successful candidate will be confident working across digital and estates teams, translating operational requirements into practical delivery plans and ensuring that physical IT dependencies, technical specifications and service continuity considerations are effectively managed.

Main duties of the job

Project Management across Digital Services and Estates programmes.

Management of risks and issues.

Budget management.

Supplier & contract management.

Ability to produce business cases and papers to present at various Governance meetings.

Attendance at senior meetings, including the ICS.

Ability to translate digital technical requirements and specifications to non technical audiences.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant computing or business management discipline with specialist post-graduate modules or equivalent level of experience.
  • Prince2 (Practitioner) or equivalent
Desirable
  • Experience of working within the NHS

Experience

Essential
  • Significant experience in a similar role, together with relevant experience and evidence in Estates focused Project /change Management and environments.
  • Track record of delivery of Digital workstreams within an Estates / facilities programme to the required standards, on time and within budget;

Knowledge

Essential
  • Technical Knowledge in IT/System implementation technologies
  • Robust knowledge of IT/ Digital standards linked to buildings and facilities
Desirable
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical supporting services essential for the delivery of IT/Digital systems and services.

Skills

Essential
  • Friendly and confident manner in communicating with people at all levels within the organisation and partners.
  • Good analytical, Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Able to develop and apply reactive and pragmatic solutions to problems
