ESR Self Service Specialist, Band 5
Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our People, Planning and Workforce Information team as an ESR Self Service Specialist, providing system support within the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). We are looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual with previous professional ESR experience that would be pivotal in supporting the workforce in its ESR usage and queries.
This role encompasses specialist ESR knowledge in supporting internal stakeholders in problem solving issues, training new users and identifying issues with data quality or processes. ESR is the central workforce data source for the Trust, making this role pivotal in the success of the Trusts ability to report accurately and enable supervisors to have ownership of their team data.
The role is based at Victoria Warehouse, Gloucester; working between Monday to Friday 900-1700. We support hybrid working or job share as a flexible employer.

Experience using and maintaining functionality of ESR within a professional capacity (excluding accessing own pay slip or elearning etc) to support end users accessing/utilising the system.
Ability to investigate new and unused ESR functionality to make recommendations concerning its use.
Ability to provide training to individuals and groups of staff including senior managers on the how to utilise ESR Self Service with a range of technical capability and literacy.
Ability to communicate clearly with key stakeholders to establish requirements and develop associated processes linked to ESR Self Service.
Ability to identify process errors and exceptions, and other system weaknesses and able to suggest solutions.
Provide clear explanations and answer complex questions using a high level of understanding of ESR to all end users.
Line management of the ESR Self Service Administrator, including support and development as well as day to day line management.

Qualifications and Training
Educated to degree level in relevant field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience of working within NHS.
Using and maintaining various functionality within ESR at a professional Trust wide level.
Ability to produce reports and manipulate the data accordingly.
To ensure technical knowledge is accurate and up to date in line with national changes.
Provide specialist and technical advice and guidance to users with a range of technical capability and literacy
Experience
Experience of manipulating diverse data to produce accurate reports (i.e. Excel- import and export of data, look up tables etc)
Experience of providing training to staff and producing/updating associated training guides
Person Specification
Qualifications
