The Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering excellence across enterprise-scale environments. You’ll provide deep technical expertise, lead from the front on complex solutions, and ensure systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-grade network solutions
- Take ownership of complex technical deliverables, ensuring performance, scalability, and quality
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers at varying levels
- Collaborate with architects and senior stakeholders to align solutions with strategic objectives
- Represent engineering in cross-functional discussions, influencing technical direction
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and operational standards
- Identify and mitigate risks across engineering delivery and live services
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience across large-scale, multi-site enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, datacentre, hybrid/cloud)
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, Wi-Fi, 802.1x)
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Cisco (Catalyst/Nexus/WLC/Meraki), Palo Alto, Dell, F5
- Experience with network security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control
- Exposure to software-defined networking and virtualisation (e.g. VMware NSX-T)
- Experience or awareness of network automation in collaboration with development teams
- Ability to lead technically while working collaboratively across engineering teams
Qualifications
- CCNP (or equivalent industry experience)
Additional Information
- 37-hour working week, based on-site in Farnborough
- Working hours fall between 07:30 – 18:30 (shift-based coverage)
- Participation in an on-call rota is required to support high service availability and incident response
