  • Type: Full time, Permanent & Hybrid
  • Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
  • Location: LondonEnergy EcoPark, Edmonton

About LondonEnergy:

LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.

By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

About the role:

As a Business Analyst with a focus on data engagement, your role will be to bring the data to life with business. You'll spend time with teams across LondonEnergy (LEL), helping them understand what data is available, how to use it effectively, and how it can shape better decision making. You'll work closely with the Data and Reporting Manager to ensure that new dashboards, reports, and processes are designed around real user and the business needs—and that staff feel confident using them.

This role is a unique opportunity to sit at the heart of that transformation, working directly with teams across the organisation to help embed change, build understanding, and turn data into actions.

Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement & Coaching

  • Work closely with all teams to understand their reporting and data needs and how data can help them, acting as the key point of contact for operational users.
  • Provide training, support and advice to increase confidence in using data for decision making.

Requirements Gathering & Report Design

  • Facilitate discovery sessions to gather and document reporting needs, translating them into clear specifications for reports, dashboards, and data improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Data and Reporting Manager and technical teams to ensure reports are standardized, intuitive, and actionable.

Data Literacy & Insights Support

  • Support teams in interpreting reports and drawing insights to inform their work.
  • Where necessary, help teams troubleshoot or explore new ways of slicing their data.

Continuous Improvement

Help to shape the roadmap for future training and support:

  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of how data tools are being used and where improvements are needed.
  • Identify and escalate recurring data quality or process issues to the Data and Reporting Manager.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Honours Degree in a STEM subject.
  • Proficient in data analysis, cleansing, manipulation, and visualization using tools like Power BI and Excel.
  • Experience in business analysis or data engagement roles, especially in change-heavy environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in gathering requirements and translating them into actionable insights and reports.
  • Comfortable in low data maturity settings and experienced in coaching, training, and guiding others through change.
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality issues, and change management principles.

Benefits

  • Private Medical & Life Insurance
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Annual Leave Package
  • Employee Recognition Scheme
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • + Many more benefits
