IT Systems Specialist

Our IT team is growing and we are looking for a new IT Systems Specialist to join us!

Looking for a role where you can combine infrastructure expertise, cloud technologies and SQL administration? This IT Systems Specialist role offers the opportunity to provide advanced technical support while developing and maintaining core systems, networks and integrations across a complex environment.

We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities...

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the organisation's physical and virtual server environment across on-premise and cloud platforms
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend upgrades or enhancements to ensure technology remains secure, modern and efficient
  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure components, ensuring they are secure, high-performing and cost-effective
  • Work closely with IT security colleagues to identify infrastructure risks and implement appropriate remediation and preventative measures
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and effective communication between users, systems and services
  • Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure critical data can be restored quickly and effectively in the event of an incident

We are looking for someone who has...

  • A degree in Computer Science or Relevant experience
  • Experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in identifying and developing system integrations to improve information management and workflows
  • Experience managing MS SQL Server including optimising database performance
  • Experience with implementing and managing Windows and Linux Server OS
  • Experience with MDR security tools, firewall management and networking
  • Development using C# and/or VB and Powershell\Bash scripting
