    Job description
    The Test Engineer will work within DBS CIO Change Delivery Services area of the business developing scripts for test automation tool. They will create the tests based on the system requirements to meet quality and performance requirements, and technical constraints.
    Person specification

    • Collaborate with team members to continually improve the knowledge within the team. 
     
    • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across DBS to provide regular updates on progress, delivering Show and Tell demonstrations on testing progress, addressing any concerns or issues. 
     
    • Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders on complex discussions and negotiations
     
    • Strong knowledge in creation of test plan, test design, test execution, test report and defect process.
     
    • Liaise with other DBS IT colleagues to investigate and resolve issues with access to environments related automation..
     
    • Mentor colleagues through training, providing advice and guidance on best practice and testing techniques. 
     
    • Progress through self-learning and upskilling in test automation and related technologies to improve oneself and the team as a whole. 
     
    • Keep up to date with test automation tools (TestComplete, Cucumber, Selenium Web Driver, Selenium Grid, JAVA / Python, Junit & Maven) and test automation framework / languages (java, Junit and scripting language such as VB script, java script or shell script), API. 

    • Keep up to date with common Build/ Release/ CI/ CD tools (Jira, Git, Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity) 
     
    • Responsible for designing functional and non-functional testing.
     
    • Test analysis to Identify simple patterns and trends investigating problems and opportunities in existing processes, highlight solutions to these. 
     
    • Ability to work with stakeholders to identify test scenarios. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. 
     
    • Conducting analysis that influence decisions of senior management while following their strategic leadership and direction.
     
    • Execute test scenarios and identify defects, raising awareness of them. Run tests others have written and know the processes to do so.a
