Business/IT Trainee Teacher

About the Role

Are you a graduate or unqualified teacher with experience supporting IT or Business classes?

Join a supportive independent school in Hayes, London as a Grad2Teach IT/Business Trainee Teacher — a salaried position designed to help you train, earn, and qualify while gaining valuable in-school experience.

In this role, you’ll support and deliver engaging IT and Business Studies lessons across Key Stages, helping pupils develop digital literacy, technical skills, and an understanding of real-world business concepts. You’ll work closely with experienced teachers, contribute to planning and evaluating lessons, and take an active role in wider school life.

As part of the Grad2Teach two-phase teacher training programme, you’ll be employed from day one, completing a Level 4 NCFE qualification in Phase One before progressing to a PGCE with QTS in Phase Two, delivered in partnership with Coventry University.

About You

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and capable IT/Business trainee who:

• Holds a degree (ideally in IT, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related subject)
• Has prior classroom or educational experience — for example, as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or unqualified teacher
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for technology, digital skills, and/or business
• Is reflective, motivated, and committed to developing as a teacher
• Is keen to follow a salaried, school-based route into teaching through Grad2Teach

Training & Progression

During Phase One, you’ll gain hands-on classroom experience while completing your Level 4 qualification aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and the Teachers’ Standards.

Once ready, you’ll progress into Phase Two — completing your PGCE with QTS through Coventry University, supported by Grad2Teach mentors, training coordinators, and school-based mentors.

All training is scheduled outside teaching hours, allowing you to focus on developing excellent classroom practice while remaining fully salaried.
