Senior Product Manager
This is a hands-on senior product role.
You will be expected to set product direction and stay close to execution — working directly with engineers, writing detailed product specs, reviewing edge cases, and getting into the detail when it matters.
If your preference is to operate mainly through delegation, or you’re looking to step away from day-to-day product work, this role is not a fit.
The Role
We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to own and evolve core digital products used by students, graduates, employers, and universities at scale.
You’ll act as the product owner in the truest sense, shaping vision, influencing senior stakeholders, and partnering daily with engineering to ship meaningful, commercially impactful features.
This is a high-trust, high-ownership environment. You’ll be given autonomy and you’ll be expected to use it well.
What You’ll Actually Do
Product Vision & Strategy
- Define and clearly articulate product vision aligned to GTI’s commercial goals
- Lead product discovery and prioritisation with evidence, not opinion
- Confidently represent product decisions to senior stakeholders and execs
- Balance long-term strategy with near-term delivery
Hands-On Product Delivery (Core Expectation)
- Write and own PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Work directly with lead developers on solution design and trade-offs
- Stay close to tickets, edge cases, and delivery risks
- Be actively involved in sprint planning, refinement, and retros
- Step in and unblock delivery when things get messy
If you don’t enjoy this part, you won’t enjoy the role.
Collaboration & Influence
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and commercial teams
- Translate complex business and user problems into clear product outcomes
- Communicate decisions clearly, even when trade-offs are uncomfortable
Who This Role Is For
You’re a senior product professional who:
- Enjoys owning outcomes, not just frameworks
- Can zoom effortlessly between exec-level vision and delivery-level detail
- Is comfortable being accountable for decisions
- Values craft, clarity, and shipping real value
You see hands-on product work as a strength — not something to grow out of.
Key Criteria (Essential)
- Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager owning digital products end-to-end
- Demonstrated ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders and executives
- Strong experience working directly with engineers on delivery and implementation
- Evidence of staying hands-on in product detail at a senior level
- Excellent prioritisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Data-literate, with a clear understanding of how to define and measure impact
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Red Flags (This Role Is Not For You If...)
- You prefer to focus mainly on strategy decks and alignment forums
- You expect delivery to be handled entirely by others
- You see detailed product work as “execution” rather than product leadership
- You’re looking for a stepping-stone into people management rather than product ownership
We’re being upfront on purpose.
Nice to Have
- Experience in SaaS, marketplaces, HR tech, or education platforms
- Exposure to AI-driven or data-heavy products
- Experience operating in high-scale, high-volume user environments
Why Apply?
- Products used by millions of early-career users
- Real commercial impact — not vanity metrics
- A culture that values builders and presenters
- Senior autonomy without senior ego
