Managing Director - Eltek (DAQ business of Grant Instruments)

Grant Instruments is seeking an exceptional commercially driven Managing Director to build, scale, and accelerate Eltek, its growing Data Acquisition and IoT-enabled monitoring business.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Grant Instruments CEO and Board, the Managing Director will take full executive ownership of the Eltek business, with a clear mandate to drive growth.

You will define and execute the commercial strategy, expand our IoT-enabled data acquisition portfolio, develop new revenue streams across hardware, software, and cloud services, and personally lead key customer, partner, and market engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Growth & Business Development (Core Focus)

  • Define and execute a growth-led commercial strategy, identifying where Eltek can win in IoT-enabled data logging, remote monitoring, and telemetry.
  • Actively develop new markets, applications, and customer segments, translating emerging IoT needs into commercial opportunities.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with customers, distributors, partners, and strategic collaborators.
  • Lead key account development, complex deal negotiations, licensing discussions, and long-term commercial agreements.
  • Shape pricing, value propositions, and go-to-market models across hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Represent Eltek externally at customer meetings, partner engagements, industry forums, and IoT conferences.

Strategic Leadership

  • Set the strategic direction and roadmap for Eltek, balancing near-term commercial wins with longer-term platform and product evolution.
  • Identify and prioritise investment opportunities that support scalable growth.
  • Lead business planning, budgeting, and risk management with a clear commercial lens.
  • Work closely with the Grant Instruments Group to leverage shared platforms and accelerate IoT capability development.

Financial & Operational Ownership

  • Hold full P&L responsibility, with direct oversight of revenue growth, margins, cashflow, and financial performance.
  • Translate commercial strategy into clear financial outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Ensure operational delivery supports growth, customer satisfaction, and scalability.
  • Maintain appropriate governance, compliance, and reporting standards.

Product, Technology & Delivery

  • Work closely with technical and product teams to ensure products are commercially relevant, market-led, and differentiated.
  • Prioritise R&D initiatives that directly support growth in IoT connectivity, telemetry, and cloud-based data services.
  • Ensure reliable delivery of IoT-enabled hardware and software solutions, from manufacturing and supply chain through to customer support.
  • Act as a commercial voice in product decisions, ensuring technology investments align with market demand.

Leadership, Culture & Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and grow a multidisciplinary team spanning sales, engineering, product, and operations.
  • Build a high-accountability, growth-oriented culture focused on customers and outcomes.
  • Support recruitment and performance development as the business scales.
  • Encourage collaboration across Grant Instruments to maximise commercial and technical leverage.

About You

Essential

  • A proven growth leader in a B2B technology environment, ideally within IoT, SaaS, instrumentation, telemetry, or data acquisition.
  • Demonstrated experience building revenue, developing markets, and closing complex technical sales.
  • Senior leadership experience (MD, GM, or similar) within a technology-focused SME or scale-up.
  • Strong commercial instinct combined with technical credibility in IoT ecosystems (cloud platforms, connectivity, sensors, data workflows).
  • Experience owning P&L and commercial strategy, not just operational delivery.
  • Comfortable operating strategically while personally engaging in business development, customer discussions, and deal-making.
  • Track record of leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams in a growth environment.

Desirable

  • Experience in life sciences, environmental monitoring, industrial IoT, heritage preservation, utilities, or regulated technical markets.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, wireless protocols, IoT frameworks, or cloud-based DAQ platforms.
  • Experience integrating products, platforms, or acquisitions.
  • Exposure to global distribution models and international customers.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline required.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification beneficial.
