Role overviewAs a Manager in our AI consultancy team, you will help clients work out where AI can make a real difference to their business, and how to get there. This is a consulting role first. You will spend your time with clients, listening, asking the right questions, and turning what you hear into clear strategies, plans and recommendations.
You will lead client conversations and workshops, shape AI strategy, help clients decide which ideas are worth pursuing, and run small teams. You will also be hands-on with the tools. We expect our managers to use Claude and other AI tools every day to produce strategies, interview notes, diagrams of proposed solutions and client materials, faster and to a higher standard.
Key responsibilitiesWorking with clients to understand their needsRun interviews and workshops with client teams, from frontline staff to senior leaders, to understand their challenges, their data and how ready they are for AIPull together what you hear into clear notes, insights and findingsBuild trusted relationships with clients and act as their day-to-day contactShaping AI strategyWork with clients to identify, assess and rank the practical uses of AI, including generative AI (AI that creates text, images or code), by value, feasibility and readinessDevelop business cases and ways to measure benefits that give clients confidence to investTurn broad business problems into practical plans, with a clear first phase and options for how the client should organise itself to use AICreate diagrams that explain the proposed solution clearly to technical and non-technical audiencesProducing high-quality work with AI toolsUse Claude, Claude Design, Claude Cowork and other tools to draft strategies, proposals, presentations, interview notes and diagramsCheck all AI-assisted work carefully for accuracy, logic and tone before it reaches a clientShare good practice and prompts with the wider team, and help raise the standard of AI-enabled workDelivery and leading peopleLead and coach analysts, consultants and specialists, setting clear direction and giving regular feedbackKeep work on track for scope, timing, quality and budget, and raise risks earlySupport senior colleagues with winning new work, including proposals, pitches and follow-up conversationsResponsible AI and riskMake sure recommendations follow responsible AI principles, data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation, or UK GDPR) and sensible checks on how AI models are used and monitoredHelp clients plan for adoption, including skills, change and ways of workingHandle client information with care, in line with firm policy and engagement terms Joining us as a AI Advisory Manager, the minimum criteria you'll need is Proven consulting experience in a professional services firm, advisory practice. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
EssentialProven consulting experience [suggest five or more years, to be confirmed] in a professional services firm, advisory practice, or a comparable client-facing role, shaping strategy or leading delivery on data, technology or AI workStrong client skills, including running interviews and workshops and drawing out useful information from people at all levelsExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down unclear problems and reach clear recommendationsConfident writing and speaking, including presenting to senior peopleA good understanding of AI today: how large language models (the technology behind tools such as Claude) work, what they can and cannot do, the main vendors and platforms, and the major cloud providers (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud)Regular, practical use of generative AI tools to produce real work, and the curiosity to keep learning as the tools changeExperience leading or coaching small teamsDesirableExperience building business cases or return on investment models for technology spendingFamiliarity with data platforms, data governance and AI agents (AI that can carry out tasks with limited supervision)Knowledge of AI regulation and responsible AI frameworksExperience with clients in financial services, private equity, the public sector or the mid-marketExperience supporting bids and proposalsQualificationsA degree or equivalent professional experience. A technical or quantitative background is helpful but not requiredToolsYou will be expected to work confidently with Claude, Claude Design and Claude Cowork, alongside the Microsoft 365 suite.
Internal candidates will already know our toolset. External candidates should show strong experience with comparable generative AI tools and a clear appetite to learn ours quickly. Training and support will be provided.
