2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer – London – Hybrid – Up to £60,000

We are working with a respected UK-based international group within the insurance and professional services sector, who are currently hiring for an experienced 2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer to join a newly formed support team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking IT function responsible for managing a modern infrastructure estate spanning on-prem, COLO data centres, and Microsoft Azure.

About the Role

As a key member of the 2nd Line Support Team, you’ll provide hands-on support and management of both the Wintel and Network infrastructure stack. You will play a critical role in incident response, BAU support, patching, capacity monitoring, and infrastructure improvement projects across a hybrid IT environment.

You’ll need to be comfortable working across two technology stacks—Networking and Microsoft/Wintel/Virtualisation—and bring a service-oriented mindset with a strong desire to broaden your technical capabilities.

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in 2nd line support.
• Ideally, you'll have both Wintel and networking environments (if not networking would be the priority).
• Strong troubleshooting and BAU support background.
• Experience with patching, capacity management, and change control processes.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to service delivery.
• A collaborative team player with an eagerness to develop new technical skills.
• A genuine interest in broadening technical skills across both Wintel and networking disciplines — ideal for candidates who want to grow into an infrastructure generalist.
