Engineering Manager (Cloud)

Engineering Manager (Cloud) | London | Hybrid

I'm working with a household name in the UK tech space - a high-traffic consumer platform used by millions - on a fantastic Engineering Manager opportunity leading their Cloud Foundations team.

This is a genuine people-first leadership role, not a hands-on-keyboard position. You'll be shaping cloud strategy, driving reliability and security governance, and enabling hundreds of engineers to deliver at scale.

What the role covers:

• Leading a team across cloud infrastructure, security, governance, and FinOps
• Owning platform reliability, DR planning, incident management, and observability
• Driving automation, IaC, and Policy-as-Code to reduce toil and strengthen governance
• Working closely with a Platform Product Manager on roadmap and OKRs
• Managing vendor relationships and cloud spend optimisation

What they're looking for:

• Proven experience managing cloud platform/infrastructure teams in a product-led environment
• Hands-on background with GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Elasticsearch, CDN/WAF
• Strong grasp of cloud security, IAM, and governance frameworks
• A leader who coaches and develops engineers rather than micromanaging
• FinOps mindset and experience embedding cost-efficiency culture
