Full Stack Engineer

The Role

We are working with an AI fintech start-up which is looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to support the continued development of its core platform and a growing suite of new products. This is a hands-on, full-stack contract role with a high level of autonomy, contributing to feature delivery, architectural decisions, and engineering best practices.

The role would suit someone comfortable working in a distributed team, able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and happy taking ownership of their work end to end.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver new features across frontend and backend systems
• Write clean, maintainable code using modern JavaScript and cloud-native patterns
• Design and work with PostgreSQL databases and scalable APIs
• Work closely with product, compliance, and engineering teams to solve real-world problems
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improvements as the platform scales
• Support code quality through testing, CI/CD, and peer review

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with React and Next.js
• Backend development experience with Node.js and API-driven architectures
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and ORMs (ideally Sequelize)
• Hands-on experience integrating AI or ML-powered tools (e.g. OpenAI APIs or similar services)
• Solid AWS knowledge, particularly Lambda, Cognito, RDS, and S3
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and automated testing tools
• A strong communicator, comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Contract Details

• 12-month contract
• Outside IR35
• Fully remote
• London office available if candidates wish to attend occasionally
