A rapidly growing financial services business is investing heavily in its data and analytics capability, and is looking for a Junior Data Engineer to support several key projects. This is a genuinely exciting time to join, with data playing a central role in the next phase of growth.
You will be joining a collaborative data team and help build scalable, reliable data infrastructure from the ground up. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world data challenges, modern tooling, and the chance to make a visible impact early in your career.
You’ll work closely with experienced data engineers and analysts, gaining practical experience while helping enable smarter, data‐driven decisions across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines using SQL and Python
- Supporting the ingestion, transformation, and optimisation of large and complex datasets
- Partnering with analysts and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, trusted data
- Playing an active role in the ongoing evolution of the company’s data platform
What they’re looking for:
- Strong SQL and Python skills (essential)
- An understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
- Exposure to PySpark or distributed data processing (desirable, not essential)
- A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow as a data engineer
- Confident communication skills and a professional, stakeholder-friendly approach
