Analytics Engineer - SQL, DBT (Outside IR35) sought by leading financial services organisation based in the city of London

Contract: 4-6 months
Location: Hybrid London
Day Rate: £550 - £650 per day

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and document layered dbt models for new BigQuery data sources.
• Create and optimise complex BigQuery SQL models, ensuring performance, scalability and maintainability.
• Build and enhance LookML models, Explores and dashboards to support business reporting and self-service analytics.
• Audit and optimise existing dbt models to improve reliability, performance and long-term sustainability.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes through robust data pipelines.
• Deliver comprehensive documentation and support a smooth handover at the end of the engagement.

Required Experience

• Expert-level SQL and Google BigQuery.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt modelling, testing and documentation.
• Proven Looker/LookML development experience.
• Strong data modelling and analytics engineering expertise.
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders and translating requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
