AV Support Engineer
Description
An excellent opportunity for an experienced AV Support Engineer to join a busy and dynamic team supporting live, streamed, and online events within a leading educational environment. This hands-on role focuses on the delivery, operation, and support of high-quality audiovisual services across multiple event and presentation spaces.
Location: London
Salary: £30,000 to £37,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and support live, streamed, and online events
- Provide technical support across auditoriums, classrooms, and presentation spaces
- Prepare, rig, de-rig, and maintain AV equipment before, during, and after events
- Operate audio, lighting, and visual systems for live events
- Support event planning in collaboration with project managers
- Maintain AV equipment and technical areas in line with health and safety requirements
- Manage consumables within the AV budget
- Support recording, editing, and live streaming activities
Key Requirements
- Proven experience supporting audiovisual systems in live event or production environments
- Ability to read AV schematics and understand audio and DMX signal flow
- Experience operating audio and lighting desks
- Knowledge of wireless frequency management
- Experience supporting live-streamed events and video systems
- Confident using presentation software, including PowerPoint
- Physically able to handle equipment and work at height where required
- Flexible approach, including availability for evenings and weekends
- Strong communication skills and excellent digital literacy
Desirable
- Experience reading CAD plans
- Experience writing risk assessments
- Wiring, soldering, or basic scenic construction skills
