Enterprise Data Architect

We are working with a well-established national charity currently investing in its digital and data landscape to support continued growth and impact. This is a key opportunity to join as their Enterprise Data Architect, helping shape the data architecture and governance that underpins critical decision-making and service delivery.

Location: Hybrid - Minimum one day per week in a central London office Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with occasional out-of-hours)Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits Package

The Role

As Enterprise Data Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of the organisation’s data architecture, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability across systems. This strategic role combines high-level planning with hands-on execution to ensure data is effectively captured, structured, governed, and leveraged across the charity.

You will also line manage a Power BI Developer and work collaboratively with key stakeholders across IT, data, and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement data management policies and frameworks, including classification, governance, retention, and security
  • Design and maintain data architecture aligned with organisational goals and best practices
  • Develop data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems
  • Oversee data integration between systems to ensure consistency, quality, and usability
  • Champion data ownership across the organisation and promote its value as a strategic asset
  • Manage the implementation of analytics solutions, translating business needs into actionable insights
  • Support the development and use of data tools, including data warehouses and data lakes
  • Produce and maintain clear documentation, including architecture designs and data flows
  • Line manage a Power BI Developer, supporting professional development and workload management
  • Collaborate with IT, digital, and business stakeholders to ensure data strategies meet organisational needs

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a Data Architect role or similar
  • Strong background in data modelling, data integration, and database design
  • Experience with data governance, quality, and compliance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Desirable:

  • Certifications in data management or architecture (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF)
  • Project management experience (Agile methodologies preferred)
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL, NoSQL, and ETL platforms
