A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a respected Managed Service Provider in London. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys delivering technical projects across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and modern workplace technologies. You will work within a growing Project Delivery team and support a broad range of clients across multiple industries.
About the RoleAs a Project Engineer, you will take ownership of the end to end technical delivery of IT projects. Your responsibilities will include gathering requirements, designing solutions, implementing changes, testing environments, and producing clear documentation and handover material. You will work closely with Project Managers, technical teams, and clients to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. The role offers excellent technical variety and the chance to shape processes, share ideas, and support junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities• Deliver technical input throughout all stages of project delivery including design, implementation, testing, documentation, and handover
• Approve and complete installations, upgrades, and change requests with minimal disruption
• Provide technical pre sales support including solution design, proposals, and client presentations
• Produce high quality project documentation, technical guides, and training materials
• Maintain up to date knowledge of the technologies and solutions used across the MSP
• Conduct technical audits of client environments and produce reports with recommendations
• Mentor and support junior engineers to develop their skills
• Follow internal processes including Change Control and accurate logging of billable hours
Technical Knowledge and SkillsRequired
• VMware and virtualisation technology
• Microsoft cloud platforms including Office 365, Azure, Intune, MFA, and security features
• Full Microsoft server stack including Windows Server 2008 to 2022, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, migrations
• Networking fundamentals including routing, VPNs, switching, and hardware deployments
• Backup technologies, disaster recovery planning, and bare metal recovery
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Desirable
• AWS or Google Cloud experience
• VDI, AVD, or Citrix remote desktop technologies
• ISCSI, SAN or NAS storage
• PowerShell scripting
• Network certifications such as CCNA or Network plus
• Automation tools including Puppet, Ansible or Salt
• Cloud based telephony such as Teams or 3CX
• Linux experience
