Account Executive

Job Description:

Greys Specialist Recruitment are representing a rapidly scaling international SaaS business that provides an all-in-one e-commerce operations platform for brands and retailers.

The platform helps customers manage marketplace listings, orders, inventory, warehouse operations and fulfilment from one central system. Already established internationally, the business is now investing heavily in its UK and Irish presence.

This is an opportunity to join during an important stage of that expansion and play a direct role in shaping how the company wins customers within the UK market.

The opportunity

We are looking for a commercially driven Account Executive who can combine proactive business development with consultative, technically credible selling.

This is not an AE position where a full diary of qualified meetings will be handed to you. You will be responsible for generating the majority of your own pipeline and managing opportunities through the entire sales process—from identifying target accounts and opening conversations to discovery, product demonstrations, commercial negotiation and closing.

You will work with e-commerce, marketplace and operations leaders at scaling brands and retailers. The strongest candidates will be comfortable understanding complex operational challenges, asking intelligent questions and demonstrating how technology can improve efficiency, profitability and customer performance.

Responsibilities

  • Build your own pipeline through targeted cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking, events, referrals and partner relationships.
  • Develop and execute a structured territory plan across the UK and Ireland.
  • Identify and engage suitable brands, retailers and e-commerce businesses within the target market.
  • Own the complete 360-degree sales process from initial prospecting through to qualification, discovery, demonstration, proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Lead detailed discovery conversations to understand each prospect’s marketplace, inventory, order-management, warehouse and fulfilment processes.
  • Deliver confident, consultative product demonstrations tailored to the customer’s workflows, commercial priorities and technical requirements.
  • Translate technical functionality into clear business outcomes, including increased sales, improved margins, reduced administration, better inventory control and stronger service performance.
  • Build credible business cases and communicate value to both operational stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across e-commerce, operations, technology and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate with product and technical colleagues where more detailed integration or implementation expertise is required while retaining ownership of the commercial process.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and consistently convert qualified opportunities into new customers.
  • Develop relationships with agencies, logistics providers and technology partners capable of generating additional opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity and forecasting information within the CRM.
  • Provide clear customer and market feedback to the product, marketing and customer-success teams.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and conferences.

Requirements

  • Three to five years’ successful experience in B2B SaaS, technology or another complex solution-led sales environment.
  • A consistent record of meeting or exceeding new-business revenue targets.
  • Clear evidence of generating your own leads and building pipeline without depending entirely on SDRs or inbound marketing.
  • Experience managing the complete sales cycle from initial outreach through to signed contract.
  • Strong discovery skills and the ability to uncover operational, commercial and technical pain points.
  • Confidence leading product demonstrations and adapting them to different stakeholders and use cases.
  • A consultative approach, with the ability to challenge customers constructively and develop a commercially compelling solution.
  • Enough technical curiosity and aptitude to understand workflows, integrations and complex software functionality.
  • Experience selling into e-commerce, retail technology, marketplaces, order management, warehouse management, logistics technology or a related environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Confidence engaging senior decision-makers while also working effectively with operational and technical users.
  • Strong negotiation, organisation and pipeline-management skills.
  • Experience using a modern CRM and sales-enablement tools.
  • A proactive, resilient approach and the ability to work effectively while establishing a relatively new territory.
  • Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Brighton and willing to work from the office four to five days per week.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive basic salary. of between £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + OTE
  • Uncapped commission with accelerators for over-performance.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of an early-stage UK territory within an established international technology business.
  • A clear progression route as the UK commercial team expands.
  • Personal learning and development budget.
  • Pension, private healthcare and wellbeing support.
