The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Identity & Access Management (IdAM) Architect to join our Security Architecture team and play a key role in shaping and enhancing our enterprise security capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an architect who is passionate about delivering secure, scalable, and innovative identity solutions while supporting major transformation initiatives including Journey to the Cloud, Service Management Convergence, and wider business change programmes.

You will work closely with Security Architects, Engineering teams, Risk Advisors, and business stakeholders to ensure security is embedded by design and aligned to both business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As an IdAM Architect, you will:

  • Provide specialist security and identity architecture support across strategic programmes of work, including IdAM, Service Management Convergence, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies, technical requirements, and target operating models.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews, vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and integration assessments to support secure business outcomes.
  • Partner with Solution and System Architects to ensure security principles are embedded throughout solution design and delivery.
  • Verify that Security Control Objectives and security guardrails are followed and implemented across services and platforms.
  • Provide detailed technical risk analysis to Risk Advisors, supporting service and product risk assessments for review by risk owners.
  • Design and implement identity and security solutions, including defining security methodologies, standards, technologies, and processes.
  • Support the deployment and integration of security tools, ensuring effective implementation and operational readiness.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in incident response investigations and contribute to security awareness and education initiatives.
  • Identify security gaps and provide guidance on system and platform enhancements to improve organisational security posture.
  • Produce security reports, recommendations, and architecture documentation by analysing trends, risks, and security metrics.
  • Support the wider Security Architecture team through collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge sharing activities.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as an Identity & Access Management Architect, Security Architect, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management principles, including:
    • Single Sign-On (SSO)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    • Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)
    • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Federation technologies (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
  • Experience defining and implementing enterprise security architecture and controls.
  • Strong knowledge of information security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modelling.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and supporting cloud transformation programmes.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Ping Identity, or similar IdAM technologies.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments.
  • Security certifications such as:
    • CISSP
    • CCSP
    • TOGAF
    • SABSA
    • Microsoft Security Certifications
