Guide Post Medical Group is pleased to announce the offer of a Data Administrator post at the practice.

The role of the practice Data Administrator is to ensure effective and efficient handling of patient information.

You will be well supported in a team of 5, and full training will be given in all aspects of the work.

We are based in refurbished, modernised premises with ample off-road parking

About us

We are a democratic, friendly, mutually supportive, close-working team providing care to our semi-rural and urban population. We meet up regularly throughout the day, and workflow is excellently managed.

We have 8000 patients catered by a multi-disciplinary team of four GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Associate, three Practice Nurses, four Health Care Assistants, and supported by an excellent administration team.

We have a consistently high QOF achievement.

We are a medium-sized, long established training practice, based in refurbished and modernised NHS Property Services premises in the village of Guidepost in south east Northumberland. The surgery is within five miles of Morpeth, and also has easy access to Newcastle and Northumberland.

The practice is a member of the Wansbeck Primary Care Network, which consists of 4 local practices. Additional PCN staff, namely Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, First Contact Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and Community Link workers are also based at the practice.

The practice team is also supported by the locality's district nursing team, based at the practice, as well as clinics from midwives, podiatrists and dietitians.

LINE MANAGEMENT: DATA MANAGER

REPORTS TO: BUSINESS MANAGER

ACCOUNTABLE TO: THE GENERAL PRACTITIONERS IN

PARTNERSHIP

JOB PURPOSE:

1. To ensure effective and efficient handling of information.

2. To ensure that the computer system software is effectively maintained

3. To ensure that Practice protocols are adhered to.

4. To ensure that the Practice objectives are achieved in all aspects of patient care.

MAIN TASKS:

1. Deal with hospital correspondence, and entering by Read Code onto medical records, maintaining patients computer record, as required.

2. Summarise new patients records and enter on to clinical software

3. To ensure pathology laboratory results are received via the electronic link, and posted to the appropriate clinician.

4. To undertake clinical searches, as instructed by the Data Manager.

5. Prepare information for, and assist in, clinical meetings

6. To undertake other IM&T duties

7. To undertake any other duties, as appropriate to the position, as directed by the Data and Business Managers.
