About the Role

Join an innovative healthcare technology and diagnostics company dedicated to expanding access to care through rapid, accurate point-of-care testing platforms.

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Instrumentation) for a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). In this role, you will join our Systems Engineering team to drive projects focused on improving the reliability and robustness of our medical device instrumentation, as well as managing the transfer of technology into production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electromechanical Design & Testing: Design and test components such as sensors, actuators, and other electromechanical systems.

  • Project Ownership: Own and independently manage technical projects, covering system design, reviews, and subsystem/system-level verification.

  • Performance Optimization: Lead practical investigations, including Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), to incorporate modern analytics and enhance system performance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to integrate new electronics systems and refine manufacturing processes.

  • Technology Viability: Perform detailed analyses to evaluate and integrate new technologies into existing systems.

  • Technical Documentation: Author and maintain accurate technical documentation, including schematics, test protocols, and reports.

  • Design Leadership: Lead design reviews and collaborative initiatives with internal and external engineers and scientists.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Regulated Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in a regulated industry where Quality Systems (e.g., ISO 13485) are essential.

  • Electromechanical Ownership: Proven experience owning complex electromechanical systems or subsystems through design, verification, and transfer to production.

  • Verification & Validation: Strong background in system-level verification and validation, including test method development and execution.

  • Problem-Solving & RCA: Advanced skill in root cause analysis, system troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

  • Systems Engineering Core: Solid foundation in systems engineering principles, including requirements management, system integration, sensors, actuators, and control systems.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage technical projects and multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
