A great opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of automated testing instruments sold worldwide. You'll join a small Engineering team building the software that drives their next generation of instruments and reads back the results, with direct input into how the systems are designed and flexitime to fit work around your life. You will build Windows applications that operate new instrument hardware and process the data it produces, while helping shape design decisions, writing up project documentation, and supporting the wider business on technical matters.
The Candidate: Software Engineer
You will be self-motivated, a good communicator, and have experience in software that makes things move or sense something physical. This could be anything from a basic programmable controller (PLC) project to something more advanced using a Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar. You will have most of the following:
- A degree in a computing-related field, such as Computer Science, robotics or comparable hands-on experience
- Comfortable writing object-oriented code in C++ and/or C#
- Background building Windows desktop applications, ideally in Visual Studio
- Familiar with design patterns such as MVVM and building software that handles several tasks running at once on Windows
- Used to working with version control tools like Git
- Confident diagnosing and fixing issues in systems that blend software with mechanical or electrical parts
