Data Centre Electrical Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for a Data Centre Electrical Engineer seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced, critical setting. Our client is a respected leader in the commercial building services industry, known for delivering high-quality engineering solutions. They're looking to grow their team with an experienced and motivated electrical professional.As a Data Centre Electrical Engineer, you’ll be tasked with maintaining business-critical systems, ensuring their optimal performance through both planned and reactive maintenance. You'll work as part of a skilled team, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with subcontractors, and keeping site documentation up to date.Data Centre Electrical Engineer Duties:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on essential electrical and mechanical systems
  • Perform High and Low Voltage isolations and switching in line with strict safety procedures
  • Manage and maintain UPS systems, backup generators, HV/LV infrastructure, and precision cooling units
  • Monitor and adjust Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA systems to ensure operational stability
  • Conduct daily plant inspections, scheduled checks, and in-depth fault diagnosis
  • Assist in developing and executing switching schedules, following all health and safety regulations
  • Work alongside the shift team to address alarms, respond to equipment failures, and resolve any urgent system issues

Data Centre Electrical Engineer Requirements:

  • HVAP Authorisation (desirable but not essential)
  • Prior experience in data centres or other critical environments (e.g. banking, pharma)
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent qualification)
  • Solid understanding of health & safety protocols and compliance standards

Salary and Package:

  • £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm working hours
