Biomedical Scientist Apprenticeship - BSc (Hons) in Applied Biomedical Science (IBMS accredited)

You will learn about early-phase clinical trials and become part of the laboratory team producing high-quality clinical data from varied clinical studies on behalf of our sponsors (pharmaceutical companies). You’ll gain understanding of laboratory processes as you rotate to all the HMR Laboratory sections.

Role

A typical day will include any of the following -

·         Sample handling

·         Analyser maintenance and operation

·         Quality control and quality assurance

·         Specialist techniques

·         Method validation

·         Documentation

·         Result validation and reporting

Training

You will complete the Level 6 Healthcare science practioner Degree Apprenticeship over 4 years during protected study time at a local university.

The following qualifications will be gained:

BSc (Hons) in Applied Biomedical Science with the University of Westminster .

IBMS pre-registration portfolio for the Certificate of Competence.  By achieving this you would be able to join the national register and work as an accredited Biomedical Scientist.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship and award of the IBMS Certificate of Competence, candidates will be able to register with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist and apply for further positions.
