Job Title: Automation Engineer (AppViewX and Keyfactor)

Location: Leeds

Hybrid - 2 days work from office

This is Fixed term contract role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in AppViewX and Keyfactor Command integration to design, develop, and optimize enterprise certificate lifecycle automation solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing AppViewX capabilities, building automation workflows, integrating certificate management platforms, and driving operational efficiency through automation and process optimization.

This role requires hands-on experience in PKI, Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), REST API integrations, scripting, and enterprise automation platforms. The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance automation solutions using AppViewX.
  • Build and maintain integrations between AppViewX and Keyfactor Command.
  • Automate certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and discovery workflows across enterprise environments.
  • Develop and maintain custom integrations using REST APIs, web services, and automation frameworks.
  • Create automation scripts using Python and PowerShell to streamline certificate and PKI operations.
  • Optimize workflow performance, scalability, and reliability within AppViewX environments.
  • Troubleshoot integration, automation, and certificate lifecycle management issues.
  • Work closely with Security, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Application teams to implement automated certificate management processes.
  • Develop reusable automation components, templates, and best-practice frameworks.
  • Monitor system health, performance metrics, and automation effectiveness.
  • Document technical designs, workflows, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and PKI governance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AppViewX development, administration, and automation.
  • Experience integrating Keyfactor Command with certificate management and automation platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM).
  • Proficiency in REST API development and integration.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and/or PowerShell.
  • Experience with workflow automation and orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates, certificate authorities, and security best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex automation and integration issues.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of ITSM integrations (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Familiarity with containerized environments and automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
