Job Description
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead software development initiatives and coordinate ongoing patch/vulnerability management programs. The ideal candidate bridges technical understanding with strong project execution skills, ensuring releases, updates, and security patches are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, execute, and deliver software development projects using Agile/Scrum or hybrid methodologies
- Own project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across the SDLC
- Coordinate with developers, QA, DevOps, and product owners to remove blockers and maintain velocity
- Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release planning
- Track and report project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership
Patch & Vulnerability Management
- Own the end-to-end patch management lifecycle: identification, testing, scheduling, deployment, and validation
- Coordinate patch cycles across OS, application, and infrastructure layers (Windows/Linux servers, endpoints, cloud workloads)
- Partner with Security/InfoSec teams to prioritize patches based on CVE severity, risk scoring, and compliance requirements
- Maintain patch compliance dashboards and SLAs; report on patch coverage and outstanding vulnerabilities
- Manage change control and maintenance windows to minimize downtime during patch deployment
- Coordinate emergency/out-of-band patching for critical or zero-day vulnerabilities
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary liaison between engineering, security, IT operations, and business stakeholders
- Facilitate change management (CAB) processes for both feature releases and patch deployments
- Manage vendor and third-party coordination where applicable (SaaS providers, patch tooling vendors)
- Escalate and drive resolution of risks that threaten project or patch timelines
Required Experience
5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2+ years managing software development projects
- Demonstrated experience managing patch management or vulnerability remediation programs
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and change management processes
- Familiarity with patch management tools (e.g., SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Ansible, Tanium, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar)
- Working knowledge of vulnerability scoring (CVSS) and CVE prioritization
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar)
- Excellent stakeholder communication, risk management, and organizational skills
